I'd like to conform certain configuration settings on the 2540B are in effect.
What "Log" and "Display" level (Emergency to Debugging) of "System Logging" should be set to examine activity on the DSL line?
Something similar to below would be very useful;

Can this log be automatically and periodically eMailed to specific address?

I would ask DLink support on which logging method would be preferred to use on the modem for your needs.

The modem might have the option to email like DIR series routers do.

Is that a valid MAC address? or did you just input that for privacy here in the forums?

Example provided was from a Netgear product edited for privacy.

If I decide to stay with this 2540B, looks like I'll be on the phone to Technical Support for hours...

Well logging could be similar however still, apples to oranges. DLink has logging abilities and logging email sending features as well. I've used it on occasion however I don't much any more. I don't need to see much in the logs unless there is something critical going on that fails to recover either on its own or by a cursory inspection of the network. I mainly use Attacks and Debug mainly leaving system activity and informational OFF. If the system is set up well and working well, then logging isn't needed until something happens.

Well that's the big question - How do I know things are working well?

Provided setup and operation detail is so poor my confidence is low. I'd like to confirm everything, including firewall, is working as expected.

And BTW, logging "Attacks" for the 2540B does not appear to be an option...
