connection drop
« on: October 06, 2007, 07:00:57 AM »

Seems to be dropping the connection since I've installed the newest firmware a couple of weeks ago, v1.09.
The wireless devices seem to be connecting to the router okay.
I think it's the connection to the subscriber module that's dropping.
All configuration is standard, using WPA.
Does anybody know of a configuration value I could change that might make this a bit more stable?
thanks

So your connection was fine before updating firmware to 1.09 ? If so which firmware version you had earlier ? Did you try downgrading it to that firmware ?

Just bought a brand new DIR-625 and it came with firmware 1.09
Have a mix of LAN and wireless devices and not having any issues.
only thing I changed from defaults was setting wireless to WPA and inputting my key.
(And the admin password)

I have also have a DIR-625 with similar symptims.  It is Rev A2, came with v1.09 F/W.  I experience sporadic connection drops from a DWA-142.  Most of the time things are great, and then suddenly the DWA-142 gets dropped and cannot get back on the network.  I can see it connect, hold the connection for a few seconds, then terminate.  It repeats the cycle forever.

Re-Starting the laptop with the DWA-142 has no effect; rebooting the DIR-625 has no effect, and even poering down the DIR-625 for a few minutes has no effect.

So far my only "fix" has been to shut down down all computers on the network, power down the router, and bring everything back up.

Do you lose the connections hardwired and or wireless? also does it drop without WPA enable too?  also make sure the router is up to date and the adapter has the latest drivers from www.support.dlink.com

i have the same A2 version and I am experiencing lots of connectivity issues.

I get errors and drops. The router has become the bottleneck on my network. If I connect my laptop directly to the cable modem and go to speedtest.net (or other) the speeds are great. If i use the router (wired or wireless) I have significant decreases in speed and reliability.

I spoke too soon in my post above...
Mine is rev A2, 1.09 FW (came that way) was running great, now the wireless about every 20-30 minutes drops all connections...  the wireless clients in the house all show no connection, then it comes back up about 20 -30 seconds later...  I have reset all params to default and re-loaded the config backup I made right after I got it configured and I get the same results...
I hope Dlink won't just start telling us to go buy a Rev C router...
I paid good money for this one...

Are you using the Auto Channel scan feature?

I have a DIR-625 Version A2 F/W 1.09 and I am also experiencing similar symptoms. Every so often the router will loose all connectivity. Wireless devices in the house all show no connectivity. Devices that are directly connected also lose their network connection. Usually the connectivity will come back after a few minutes or I can unplug the router and plug it back to reset all of the connections. My wireless clients are a variety of 802.11G devices. My direct connected devices include a computer with a NForce Network connectors and an HP 3210 printer with built in ethernet. Anyone have any advice or discover what may be causing this. Also, has anyone heard anything from D-Link regarding this issue? Sounds like to me that the A versions may have a bug in them. Perhaps a firmware update could fix these connectivity issues.

What does the log (of events) say? Status>logs>log details. Do you have a security protocol chosen? WPA. WPA2? If yes, try it with None to make sure the problem isn't in the reauthorization signals received by the router.
