Hi

i have my Dir-655 with the newest Frimware.

butt i am starting to get a Deauthentication problem.

I have 21/2 mbit internet speed linie, when i want to download something and i use IDM (Internet Download Manager) and set it to use all my 21 downspeed, after short time, i lose the connection to my network. and when i check the log, i can see is this..

What are your wireless security settings?  Security Mode & Associated Settings..

How's the connection quality (settings and real performance)

I would also check you anti-virus / firewall software.  I had a similar problem where my Norton 360 was forcing the "deauthentication" because my wireless SSID was not listed in the "trusted" networks.

Which NIC is in your PC? Updated drivers?

If so, try downloading inSSIDer and take a look at the other APs in your area and locate the least used channel and change your 655 to use that channel.

All my drivers is updated. butt i am not sure if there is a new driver for my wireless card in my pci. i cant find any driver, i have D-Link DWA-547 Rangebooster N650 Desktop Adapter.

Yes i am. butt i have used that program and i rund channel 9 and 5 as second.

Your RSSI is a bit weak to run very high speed. I guess there's too many obstacles or the distance is not covered well enough by the antenna setting...

Just give channel 1 or 8 a try....

And the XP 300 mbps notice: don't pay attention to that. Has no real meaning as to the actual connection speed.

You might also wnat to experiment with the directions the antennas are pointing. They are quite crucial for the 'N' setup/results.

I guess the router's indication is the correct one. The router will automatically switch to the best obtainable speed. Looking at the pic that's 54 mbit. You can get the MB/s speed by transfering a large file in the Windows transfer window. 54 mbit will give you about 5 MB/s

Isn't inSSIDer great?   Eddie's right about channel 1 or 8, and your signal level is much lower than I would have thought -- closer to -50dBm would be ideal.  But since we can't move walls or walk on water, it is what it is.  This is what it looks like in Manhattan:  (I'm the grey one)



I'm still able to get full N speed on my intel wireless (130mbit) even in the bedroom, the DWA-652 card rarely actually gets 300 even when it's 6 feet from the DIR-655.
