No Internet on existing router
« on: May 15, 2013, 09:34:25 AM »

Hello!
I've recently purchased and installed the DIR-505 for use in a second building of our work place (let's call this building 2). The 505 is connected to the existing router via a lengthy Ethernet cable and is set to access point (I think that's the correct setting). The Internet works fine on all computer attached wirelessly to the 505 in building 2. However, in building 1 all of the computers connect fine to the original router except for one which always brings up the dlink login page requesting the password for the access point, but this computer isn't connected to the 505, only to the original router. I've assumed it's some sort of ip conflict but doing release and renew in command prompt doesn't do anything. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jon

Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. Setup/Networking. This ensures each devices gets its own IP address when turned on and connected, eliminates IP address conflicts and helps in troubleshooting.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.

What model main host router do you have?
