Connection to access point and configuration
« on: May 17, 2013, 09:00:54 AM »

Any ideas for getting these powerline things to work on an access point?

To explain my set up - the main router in the house is a Draytek ADSL router  (192.168.1.1), from this router I have an ethernet cable to another part of the house plugged into a Linksys router (192.168.2.1) and am using it an access point to extend my network. The Linksys, broadcasts it's own SSID, however the Draytek manages all the DHCP for my network, including devices connected to the Linksys.

I have a room at the back of the house that the Linksys wireless can't quite reach, so I bought the D-Link Powerline plugs to extend the network further. I have plugged the Powerline into the Linksys router and the other plug into the room I need it in.

I have used the set-up wizard and cannot get it working, I have tried manually configuring the set-up trying different IP addresses etc, still with no luck...

On the status of the admin, it says IP address of the d-link is 0.0.0.0 which make me think that the Linksys isn't giving it an IP address?

Any ideas on configuration?

Thanks in Advance!
