DIR-651 G/N mixed mode not working correctly
« on: June 02, 2013, 12:26:52 PM »

I have two laptops that are G only so I have to keep the router in G/N mixed mode.

But all the devices that can use N still only connect to the router in G mode.

I have tested by switching to N only mode.
this allows N devices to connect at Full speed.

I then switched back to mixed mode.
N devices were still connected in N mode but G devices would NOT connect.

After I rebooted the router, this changes back so G devices could connect but N devices connected in G mode again.

I noticed in N only mode, I had the additional option to set 20/40Mhz but I don't have the option in G/N mixed mode. I realize this option won't affect the G mode but I should have the option for the N side.

Hardware Version: A1     Firmware Version: 1.11NA

Please help me resolve this.
thanks

What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK  only or Auto.

Thanks for replying.
I'm using WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only

I don't have any adapters/devices that won't connect just that they won't connect in N mode(they do connect but in G mode) while mixed mode is active.

My WiiU doesn't support TKIP and is ONLY wireless, so switching to TKIP isn't a long term option but I will test it when I get home tonight.
