It's been 3 years since the last release and I presume that maybe they may not develop drivers for windows 8.
I recommend that you phone contact D-Link support and ask them about Windows 8 drivers.
Also you could ask them which chip set is in the 140, i.e. atheros or broadcom, something like that and if you can find out, head over to there site to see if there are chip set drivers available for Windows 8.
I need a driver for windows 8 64 bit. The windows 7 one won't work.
