I hope someone can help me here.
I brought home my new DIR-625 rev C1 today and set it up with the install cd and everything seemed peachy. "Great!" I thought, "Now to upgrade the firmware."
My router came with f/w version 3.02. I wasn't clear on whether or not the firmware upgrades were cumulative, so I started with 3.03. I followed all the directions on how to upgrade the firmware.
After the 78 sec countdown page, the following message appeared on a white background:
"Please wait...
The gateway is currently measuring your network connection.
Accessing this web page might have an effect on the measurement.
This page will refresh shortly."
I waited. And read for a bit. Then had a nap. Two hours later, this page was still displayed. The router's lights were blinking madly. And I had no connection to the internet.
I have a Vista 64 machine. Vista's networking icon showed that the local connection was dropping and being restablished about every 30 seconds or less.
I tried resetting the router and then in a moment where it held the connection long enough, upgraded it to firmware 3.08. (in the meantime, I've been connecting to the internet directly through the modem).
Any help? Is this router already broken?
