Looking for opinions. I've had a Buffalo Linkstation 1 terabyte NAS ethernet drive that worked great for over a year. Recently I had a disk problem so I've been using a USB 2.5" drive connected to the DIR-645 instead.
The question is, I have a new 1 terabyte HDD. Which way would be the preferred way to use it?
1. Use the terabyte drive in the Buffalo link station as an ethernet connected NAS to the router and map it as a network drive.
or
2. Use the terabyte drive in a USB enclosure connected to the DIR-645 USB storage port and map a network drive with the shareport utility.
Is there any benefit one way or the other?
