I managed to SAVE a DGL-4500 last weekend:) They had bought a Belkin N600 In Jan to replace there DGL-4500 which got to the point it needed to be rebooted every 20 min or so. They had the router since it first came out brand new several years ago so it was an original haha. Well anyway the Belkin started CONSTANTLY rebooting to the point the network was unusable so I told him he should bring out the old d-link out of the building which has went through some VERY cold and Extreme hot days lately. Hooked it all up for him and bam started dropping connections after 40min, Checked the firmware and WoW it was on the original shipping firmware! lol. So I flashed 1.16 I think it was? and it worked so so (I read a lot of bad things about the v1.23 the latest whatever that version was) Did a Factory reset afterwards and BAM it was WORKING GREAT more than before! I then went on an Disable a few stuff including QOS, Logs, WISH, ETC. They dont need QOS as it seems QOS on any router seems to really kill their internet speed, They have Hughesnet Gen4 which they presently get 8-10mbps down and a half to 1meg up but QOS always seems to really screw with the speed on HugesNet.
