What happens if you set the MTU to 1500 as a test?
Router says invalid MTU size. Valid MTU range 128 to 1492. There should be a 1500 value available unless some how the router limited for this Rev A model. Can you call and ask your ISP what they support in the MTU value to be sure? This could be an issue maybe. The ISP support office is currently closed. I will call when they are open. Would MTU value affect one computer, but not another? Also, I have been using this router/ISP for a few years now. Never had a problem until my recent 3 month power off. This could only mean that before the 3 month time frame, it was working then after, something with the ISP service, configuration or addition of other devices has changed. When I came back, I had frequent disconnection issues. The only change at this time was the addition of my phone to the network. I have now updated the router firmware, and performed a factory reset, so all configuration has changed as well. Sadly, this doesn't narrow anything down for us.******************************************
The reason of the DHCP clients are reporting never expire and 23hr is that your PC is reserved ON the router and the others are not. It's recommended to reserve all IP addresses for all devices ON the router.
Ok, I have reserved all IP addresses for all devices. Behavior has not changed. Is there a reason my computer is automatically set to reserve while the others are need to be set manually?Reserved IP addresses are not automatic. They have to be manually configured ON the router. You are setting the reservation ON the router and NOT on the devices right? Devices should be set to Automatic or Auto Obtain IP addressing to be sure. If you are manually setting IP addresses ON the devices this is called Static IP addressing. This is not preferred for using routers that are designed to do this ON the router. That is correct, all devices are set to Auto obtain IP.******************************************
What wireless modes are you using currently?
Mixed mode N, G, B.Lets test Mixed G and N modes, WPA2 and TPIK only and Auto 20/40Mhz.I have set the router to these configurations. Does it matter? My wife's computer is only connected via wire now. I have turned off the wireless adapter.Anything could be effecting however since you have switched to wired on the Wifes PC, it shouldnt' be any problem. You could test with the WiFi turned OFF on the router and test to see if the wired PCs exhibit the same thing.I will turn off the Router WiFi for now.- Any other WiFi routers in the area? Link> Use InSSIDer to find out. How many?
Using InSSIDer, I see 4 green signals including my own.Ensure that the channel set on the 655 isn't on one being used, hopefully 1, 6 or 11 is preferred. I have turned off the Router WiFi. I will test WiFi after I get the wired connection working.******************************************
I do not have any CAT6 cables right now, only CAT5e. I should note, both computers are connected to a D-Link DGS 2208 switch, which is then connected to the router. I have swapped cables - same behavior.I would remove the DGS switch while testing to be sure that you can help narrow down the issue. Then, if we can help you figure it out, re-install the switch.******************************************
I would manually input your ISPs DNS addresses as well under Setup/Internet/Manual/Connection Type for your PPPoE account and see if this does anything.
I don't know the ISP's DNS address. I will have to call when the support office opens. In the mean time, it is obtained automatically, and set to: 61.207.11.153I presume there should be a 2ndary DNS address as well. There should be two DNS addresses. Possible only one could be a cause. One thing you could try is this:
- Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual or under Setup/PARENTAL CONTROL/Set to>None: Static IP or Obtain Automatically From ISP.
- Enable Use Unicasting (compatibility for some ISP DHCP Servers) under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Turn OFF DNS Relay under Setup/Networking after you try this> Link>

Ok on the MTU value, this maybe a default limit when using PPPoE as a connection type. No need to downgrade FW. Lets find out what the ISP supports first.
Maybe someone can review your router settings with you using Link>
teamviewer if your interested. Its safe and secure.
