Swap drives from DNS-320 to DNS-320L?

I have a DNS-320 which contains two disks configured as JBOD. Now I bought a DNS-320L and i want to use the same drives in the new NAS. Can I simply swap the drives from the 320 to the 320L without the drives being re-formatted?

I couldn't get it to work either, 320L just wouldn't read the disks.

I'm not entirely sure, I believe it "may" be possible to transfer a Standard Volume from the DNS-320 to DNS-320L, and I reiterate the word "may", as I am not 100% sure. I can say with absolute certainty that due to filesystem changes in the new ShareCenter models, no RAID (including JBOD) configurations are portable between those two ShareCenter families.

Hi, i want to move my two disks too. In the dns-320 they show up as "standard" under ShareCenter->Management->Disk Management->Hard Drive Configuration. So i can just put them into the new dns-320l without data loss?

Can anyone confirm this for standard configuration, not RAID?

There are changes in the file system between the lDNS-320 and DNS-320L.  When it comes to data integrity, it's always best to copy data onto a HDD that is formatted by the receiving ShareCenter using the destination ShareCenter's native formatting/configuration tools.  So, even if a HDD move is possible (which I don't know), I recommend allowing the DNS-320L to reformat the HDD.

My DNS320 is in RAID1 and I want to move them into my new DNS320L.

Can I do something like this?

1.take out one drive from DNS320 and install it into the DNS320L
2.formatting this drive and moving all files from the remaining DNS32 drive to the new DNS320L
3.once moving is done take the second drive out and install it on the DNS320L
4.set up again RAID1 in the new DNS320L in order to have the two drive mirrored

Does it make sense?
