Deciphering Router Log
« on: August 24, 2013, 07:40:04 PM »

Hardware version: A1  Firmware Version: 1.02

Does anyone have information regarding Router Logs?

IE: What does

:user.warn: syslog: Warn: select() failure; Errno(4): Interrupted system call

Mean?
Unfortunately, i recently cleared my log without saving or i would have more examples.
I highly suspect the error is related to my Tablet operating on 2.4GHz Band (youtube)
Frequently i receive (problem with the network) [retry] anytime the application is not redirected after a short period of time.

More error's appear.

user.warn: syslog: Warn: MRT_DEL_MFC; Errno(2): No such file or directory

user.warn: syslog: Warn: select() failure; Errno(4): Interrupted system call

My network map consists of 2 WD media players, the WDTVHUB (Ethernet cable) & WDTVlive (wireless) and a WIN7 PC(Ethernet cable) plus a couple of android devices, (tablet) and (phone)..

NETWORK SHARES from the PC to the WDHUB often become a problem (login credentials not accepted) (unknown network error) often occur after a few uses of the network shares.
Again, the tablet (android) Youtube App. (Network error try again)

This router has some great features, but it very well could make a better Wheel Chock for a car or truck!

It's not related to anything you have connected. I did see these when I had v1.02 loaded.

Is the router working for you?

I think they removed those log entries in v1.04...

Thank's for response;

Yes, overall the router functions, excluding the (network share error on the WDTVLIVE HUB) and the Android Tablet youtube application.

Are you suggesting firmware change?
If so, anyone else running a similar network on the newer firmware?

Was just looking at the log here is some current stuff;

Aug 25 13:46:32   user.warn: syslog: Warn: MRT_DEL_MFC; Errno(2): No such file or directory
Aug 25 13:42:23   user.warn: syslog: Warn: MRT_DEL_MFC; Errno(2): No such file or directory
Aug 25 13:21:32   user.warn: syslog: Warn: MRT_DEL_MFC; Errno(2): No such file or directory

BTW just realized i received your PM// thank you for the info and will  read through it.
Aug 25 13:02:47   user.warn: syslog: Warn: MRT_DEL_MFC; Errno(2): No such file or directory
Aug 25 12:56:55   user.warn: syslog: Warn: select() failure; Errno(4): Interrupted system call
Aug 24 19:10:10   user.warn: syslog: Warn: MRT_DEL_MFC; Errno(2): No such file or directory

The frequency seem's intense, really i'm trying to tie down what device or reason this is happening.

I tested v1.04 and it no longer has these log entries. This was a FW issue, not caused by a device.

So you are still seeing the ":user.warn: syslog: Warn: select() failure; Errno(4): Interrupted system call" log enteries?

The log will be cleared after doing a FW update.

Keep us posted.

I put my 826L online over the weekend and noticed that I'm getting the same log entries. Router is working well though. I'm checking on some information about this as it was discussed earlier.
