DSL-2750U Restart Automatically
« on: September 02, 2013, 09:01:54 AM »

I bought a DSL-2750U Router today. Then i have configured it and browse internet, when i am browsing the internet, it will restart after 2 - 10 minutes and from the beginning it will dial again. Some times it will disconnect the DSL and re analyze the DSL line and redial again. I used WiFi and Ethernet at the same time for my Desktop and the Laptop. I have tried only WiFi and only Ethernet and got the same results. I have changed the settings / Reset and finally I have re-upgrade the firmware as well. No solution. Please some one find me a solution and post here.

Welcome!
  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

Wireless Configurations
Links>Wireless Installation Considerations and Managing Signal Congestion
  • Ensure the default (dlink) SSID name is changed. Can be anything and not something thats already in use by any neighboring WiFi routers. Under Setup/Wireless/Manual.
  • What wireless modes are you using?
  • 2.4Ghz Routers only: Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N?
  • Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
  • Try setting a manual Channel to a open or unused channel. 1, 6 or 11. 11 for single mode N if the channel is clear.
  • What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only or Auto TPIK and AES.
  • What wireless devices do you have connected?
  • Any cordless house phones?
  • Any other WiFi routers in the area? Link> Use InSSIDer to find out. How many?

I recommend that you have your ISP check the cabling going to the ISP modem, check signal levels going to the ISP modem. The modem operation is dependent getting good signal from the ISP Service. Ensure phone cables are in good working condition and filtired correctly.

Actually there is nothing wrong with my Wireless connectivity. I have used the Router by turning off the Wireless and only using the Ethernet connectivity. And after few minutes it will restart and some times it will restart several times within one minute. Router is Indian verson. I think this has a hardware failure.

I would do a factory reset, power OFF ALL devices accept for 1 wired LAN PC.

I would try the following and add IP address reservations for each device as you graduate adding them and turning them ON:
  • Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. Setup/Networking. This ensures each devices gets its own IP address when turned on and connected, eliminates IP address conflicts and helps in troubleshooting.
  • Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.

If this fails and the modem continues to reboot automatically. Then you'll need to phone contact your regional D-Link support office and have them review the modem settings with you.

Good Luck.
