DCS-2310L - FTP Issue

I've not been able to connect the DCS-2310L to an ftp server at all. Whenever I click the 'test' button, after a short while I see "Test Error".

Is the FTP server local (same LAN)? Are you sure the IP address, path, and login credentials are properly entered/saved?

Try this

You directory structure is probably wrong. How are you using it?

Also try to Remove all special characters from un/pass.

Please post all of the values entered in the DCS-2310L web UI FTP configuration page.
(Also, I presume you gave the user account R/W access?)

I also have not been able to get the FTP option to work.
I am attempting to FTP periodic snapshots.
I setup a ftp server on a local Linux system and tested the FTP server from a Windows system, all worked well.
But when I setup an event on my DCS-2310L it can't seem to get it to work.
In fact it always fails the test. I was able to successfully get it upload images to Network Storage but I need FTP.
I tried using WireShark to monitor my network traffic but wasn't able to find any FTP traffic from the DCS-2310L.
My Event setup is as follows:

Server

Server Name:  Pi

FTP

Server Address:  192.168.1.114
Port:   21
User Name:  xx
Password:   xxx
Remote Folder Name:  /

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I setup a ftp server on my WIn 7 system and installed WireShark. What I see from WireShark is the DCS2310 successfully  login (anonymous) with a password. It then issues the following requests

Request: SYST    Response: Windows_NT
Request: PWD      Response: "/"
Request: QUIT     Response: Goodbye

It does this repeatedly (every minute).
The DCS obviously doesn't like something, but what?
I tried both "\" and "/" for the DCS2310 Remote Folder Name.

I also tried both the MSDOS and UNIX Directory Listing Style options on the FTP Server.

I have an ftp server set up at:
184.106.98.54
UN: dcs-2310l
PW: paddy
Feel free to log in if you like.

Here are my DCS-2310L settings:
http://192.168.178.20/setup.htm > Event Setup > Server > Add > FTP
Server address: 184.106.98.54
Port: 21
User name: dcs-2310l
Password: paddy
Remote folder name: /

I click 'test' at the top and about 60 seconds later I get 'Test Error' in red type.

Need any more info?

Remove the "-" from the username.

Is your Windows firewall blocking? I had a Hell of a time on XP with it.

I have exactly the same issue. Test error message when trying to configure FTP ! (not a beginner;-)
Does anyone here succeed to use FTP with DCS2310L ?

I finally catch up with the test error issue ...
Just removing the / in front of the name of the folder. Very strange that this is not documented by Dlink.
