Hello,
I have an iMac with Mac OS X Mountain Lion.
I have my D-Link DNS-320L with 2 Harddrives which are set up in standard mode, so each HD on it's own.
HD1 is for my Timemachine Backups and HD2 is for Media, synching folders between 2 Macs and 1 Windows Notebook. Since I use one HD to make my TimeMachine Backups, the AFP is enabled.
Problem is that my iMac does connect to the HD1 with AFP to make the Backups, but it connects to HD2 only with smb. It works when I connect it manually via the finder and the ip-adress (afp:// ....), but I have to do that everytime I start my Mac. Another thing is that when I connect it via afp:// then after a while it's suddenly connected again via smb.
When I connect it with afp:// then I have both in the finder, the smb-connected volume and the afp-connected volume. Also the TimeMachine does lose the connection to the afp-volume and does not find it anymore, then I have to manually choose again the afp-connected backup-hd.
Is there any way to stop smb and enable afp so that I don't have to do this manually every time I start my mac and so that it does not lose connection or even just switch the connection from afp to smb?
