D-Link DNS-325
Windows 7 Ultimate (Desk Top) & Windows 7 Professional (Lap Top) Home Network.
DNS-325 software installed on Desk Top. Set up and worked OK for some time. I did not establish a password for access to the program on initial install. Then, later, when accessing via web program, management of DNS-325 did not function. Favorites Tab was on display. Could not navigate to other Tabs (Management, etc.) Click on the Tabs produced no action.
I uninstalled DNS-325 software, and reinstalled, to see if that would solve problem. On reinstall, I established a password. It is a common password I use for many programs, and the install confirmed I had typed the same password twice. Then, I tried to access the program, but it said I was using wrong UserID or password. I know the password is correct. Nevertheless, I tried everything - Admin for UserID and No Password; my UserID and No Password and all sorts of variations. Nothing worked.
I uninstalled again, and then reinstalled. That didn't solve the problem. Still asked me for password, and said I was using wrong one.
I am unable to access the software. Can you suggest a solution? A thought I have is - Is there a configuration file of some sort where the password is stored. I have a system and file backup that predates my password problem. If so, I could copy that configuartion file back to my computer and at least access the software. I would then see if I still have the problem of not being able to access the tabs other than Favorites, and then try to fix that problem. Please give me your advice.
