Cannot set local domain name
« on: September 16, 2013, 11:19:28 PM »

I have noted in firmwares 1.0 and 1.02 that when I set the "local domain name" under "network settings" it is not retained after saving and saving w/ reboot. Have tried in two of these routers bought today. Is anyone else having this problem and can confirm?

Welcome!
  • What region are you located?

  • Was a Factory Reset performed before and after any firmware updates then set up from scratch?

Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8 or 9, set compatibility mode and test again.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection

Local Domain Name works for me. I use the following to make it intuitive:

1) Located in USA

2) Factory reset was performed before and after

I have two of these devices and both have the same problem.

Browser of choice is Firefox on main desktop, also tried on Chrome (with your settings below this morning) and IE 10 w/ & w/o compatibility mode.

I am attempting to use a structure contoso.local for my domain to match my network setup prior in my 855.

Does any input value retain the entry? Try with out any symbols like periods to test.

Disable any 3rd party security software like firewalls while configuring the router.

It does not... however I have noted that FW 1.04 is out, I will give that a try.
