repeater: doesnt access configuration page anymore
« on: October 22, 2013, 07:23:13 AM »

I have issues with accessing configuration page of my DIR -505. It has been set for repeater mode and worked fine for a while. Then some stable connection problems occurred so I played with settings.

After all, i cannot access configuration page. I tried
192.168.0.1, 192.168.0.1, 192.168.0.100, 192.168.1.1
dlinkrouteXXXX.local./
but the page doesnt load. I tried to connect with the LAN cable and did hard reset plenty of times - no success. The last thing I changed in settings was IP address from dynamic to fixed.
It has 1.05 firmware
Any other suggestions?

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?
  • Was a Factory Reset performed before and after any firmware updates then set up from scratch?

Look on th main host router and see if there could be a different IP address assigned to the 505 while in repeater mode. Sometimes it could have a different IP address...

What is the IP address pool on the main host router? 191.168.0.1?

1. Its Europe
2. I didnt do hard reset before/after firmware update -firmware was set to 1.05 by default

According to my service provider the default IP address 192.168.1.1 and its DHCP handing out IP addresses from 192.168.1.10 - 192.168.1.99.

In host router config menu I have the following addresses:
routing - 192.168.1.1
ethernet - 192.168.1.10
wifi - 192.168.1.11
      192.168.1.12
      192.168.1.13

There is newer FW available, 1.06b05. Let see if we can figure this out with out an update first...

Then if your using .1.# addresses, in repeater mode the IP address should change I believe to the same pool string so .1.50 should work or look in the DHCP list of clients on the main host router for an IP address it maybe picking up and assigning a different address.

192.168.1.50 doesnt load, i tried 52, 53, 55. No change.
I accessed DHCP configuration menu from main host router, but there are only 192.168.1.11, 192.168.1.12, ocassionally 192.168.1.10

update of FW then?

Any any one of those other IPs work to access?

I would factory reset first, run the wizard on the 505 and reset up as repeater then try to connect to it in repeater mode...

Any chance of setting your main host router up with 192.168.0.1 LAN pool instead of 1.1?

If you factory reset the 505, connect a PC to the LAN port, can you access the web page in router mode?

And if you leave WiFi On?

Should be able to access the configuration page on LAN or WiFi, You should see dlink as a new SSID after factory reset...
