Hey,
So, I have a D-Link DIR-645 that seems to not like to connect or stay connected to the internet.
Contacted D-Link support numerous times to no avail. Because the router is just past the warranty date, I can't bring it back :/
So, here is all my info:
Have a Rogers Internet Hitron Cable Modem/Router Model CGN2-ROG; all of the settings have NOT been changed except the Wireless capabilities have been turned off by my service provider.
Regarding my DIR-645 -
IP Address: 192.16.5.1 (was told to use this by D-Link support)
Hardware: A1
Firmware: 1.04 (Updated just last week)
Every other setting is all factory default.
The original reason I contacted support was because the router had been acting up after getting a new security system installed - which works off of the CGN2 as well ( I have 3 routers all pulgged into it, one for my room, one for basement and one for first floor). The router would kick me off the internet, and would have trouble loading pages when connected (took anywhere between 1-2 minutes to load email).
The guy from D-Link support said that I need to change the IP address of the DIR, thus I did. I have not been booted off since, and for the first day or 2 the internet was perfect. Then, the other day, problems started up again.
Pages would take anywhere between 30 seconds - 3 minutes, depending on the site. My iPhone and iPad can't access the internet even when I am standing beside it.
If I could get some help, that'd be great. D-Link makes great products, but am starting to get turned off of them because of this silly little problem that no one can fix.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give
