Glad you go t it working...Do people use Adblock or NoScript? I noticed that sometimes these add-ons can effect router pages as well. Set for Allow for the router pages. Enjoy.

I believe that I may have found an issue with the new firmware when it comes to logging into the router page.  What I did was login to my router to just check the settings.  The only thing I changed was changing the "Time Zone" settings from the default PST to MST.  Then I clicked save and waited for it to countdown and then I pressed Ok.  After that it wanted me to login again but I couldn't.  I use the captcha authentication along with my password.  I know I'm typing my password correctly as well as the captcha since I just logged in right before changing the time zone setting.  I also tried clearing the browser cache but got the same results on IE and Chrome.   Anyone else have this issue?

I haven't seen this issue as I'm also in the MST zone and set it and saved settings. I used FF and IE and didn't see this issue here.

Ok thanks for checking your router.  I just reset my router* to fix the login issue and no problems after reset.  For now I'm  just keeping it at PST.

I still get a bug of the UI will not display the clients if they are more than 50 clients.

The Statistic page will also get error of not getting any data after the above problem happened.

Reboot and Restore to default is working now.

I had that issue and it turned out to be that when you save settings on that page, you have to enter your password in the password field as if you're changing your password. If you don't, what the router actually does is reset your password back to the default, which is actually blank. I found out by accident by smashing my keyboard after many failed attempts at logging in and it logged me in if I hit enter without typing anything.

What browser are you using?

I use chrome and only chrome, but my issue is resolved. However, i think it's an issue D-Link should address if the DGL-5500 is resetting the password if you make changes to the Maintenance > Admin page and dont input your current password into the password field before saving changes.

Does this happen if you test a differnet browser?

I have not seen this issue with my 5500 as you describe it...
However I use IE, Opera and Safari to manage and configure the router.

I use chrome and only chrome, but my issue is resolved. However, i think it's an issue D-Link should address if the DGL-5500 is resetting the password if you make changes to the Maintenance > Admin page and dont input your current password into the password field before saving changes.

Just wanted to pass along some potential bugs I have run into with the new build. I have been running the router (FW 1.11B03) for 5 days straight with no major issues. The speeds are good though there is still a noticeable drop in bandwidth when ABE is enabled (about a 1 mb on a 10 mb connection). I using the static 100 mb/10 mb gives be the best results so far. These are the two "bugs" I have seen so far are:

1) The statistics appear to be running fine though the drop down boxes for the time length and device don't work. There is no error message and it doesn't look like anything is trying to load. I know Furry said there will be some documentation on this coming out soon but drop down boxes did work (after a day or so) in FW 1.10B04. They didn't work in FW 1.10B10 Beta.

2) I noticed when a device is connected (via wifi) that doesn't already have a static ip assignment that the priorities reset randomly (at least it seems random to me). I tested this several times (via wifi) and the priorities always get reset. Didn't test wired connections but I assume it's the same. It probably would be better if the new device would go to the end of the priority list until assigned otherwise. Not sure if anyone else noticed this or has this issue (didn't see any posts on this) so I just wanted to put it out there.

I will keep playing to see what else I find.

I'm going to recommend that you get into a business class router for your environment. This router is meant for a home and small business and limited in it's capacity to operate in a business environment with that many connected clients. I recommend that you review the DSR series of routers: http://www.dlink.com/us/en/search?q=dsr

You may only need the router only unit with out wireless. If you need wireless, just add on a DAP model wireless AP later on if needed. Suggestions

Also phone contact D-Link sales and support and inquired with them to see what is best suited for your networkings needs. Talk to them about your environment.

Are you able to return the DGL-5500 to place of purchase?

When there will be a new firmware to fix the display bugs ?

Re: New DGL-5500 v1.11B03NA FW Released Test results
« Reply #28 on: November 07, 2013, 07:56:26 AM »

Ran some simple testing last nite on this build with the 5500 down the hall way opposite from where my test client was. 28-30ft distance. I started with my Windows 7x64 PC with a DWA-180 connected on 5Ghz AC Mixed mode/WPA2 and AES only. All other settings default. Connection was being reported on Windows at 292Mbps. During actual file xfers the connection dropped to 195Mbps. Intermittently dropping to 130Mbps here and there. This was testing WRITE to the file server I had Gb Lan wired to the 5500. READ tests was stable at 292Mbps. Saw avg low to mid 20's on Mb while WRITE testing to file server. Saw avg mid to high 20's on Mb while READ testing from file server. All xfer testing was using a 800Mb and 4Gb sample files. All xfers were very smooth and completed with out issues.

I disabled the DWA adapter on the PC and LAN connected the Windows 7x64 PC to a DIR-865L v1.05 in bridge mode connected to the 5Ghz radio on the 5500. Saw mid to high 30's on Mb while WRITE testing to the file server. Saw avg mid to high 20's on Mb while READ testing from file server. Could not check WiFi connection speed between the DIR-865L and DGL-5500 as there isn't any Wifi status. We hope D-Link will consider adding this feature if they can to the 5500. Would be nice to see what clients are connected and at what speeds.

I didn't get a chance to test 2.4Ghz yet. Will try to at some point.

Initial load and testing of the new FW build resulted in seeing much better speed testing improvements on SB and ABE in the set up wizard. ISP Speed results are where they should be and are working better for XBL gaming. There is still some performance issues if SB and ABE is left on it's own after completing the speed test. I still recommend using 100.00 and 10.00 as a manual setting for now. The UI is still a bit slow when navigating between features in the UI. Not sure if this can be helped at this time. They fixed the DWA-180 adapter, Media Server and Network sharing issue I found. I was able to see my 250Gb NTFS USB drive connected to the 5500 and stream a movie using Windows Media Player yesterday and played music from it as well. Also saw the rest of my networked shared devices.  ;D

My next test project will be to hammer the 5500 and multiple xbox gaming with 4 or more xboxes all online at the same time.  :P

Overall, this build is the best so far and seems to be working well and WiFi seems much better.

This firmware seems nicely improved.  WiFi is more stable and the router does not seem to get overloaded.

However, my network and the statics tabs are blank.  I also have to punch in the router ip to get the log in page.  Using the name will not work.
