Hello again.
Among several other devices, I have a Nexus 7 (2013 version) and a Windows 7 64 bits desktop PC connected to the wireless network of my DIR-860L. Using the address reservation table, I assigned the PC's mac address to a specific IP address and it is correctly assigned to it when connected. The problem is that when the N7 connects to either the 2.4 or 5 GHz networks it gets the exact same address!
I reviewed all configurations from both the N7 and the router and found no clue on what could be causing it. It's also hard to tell for sure who's to blame, but I'm pending towards the router because I am able to connect the N7 to several other wireless networks without similar issues.
I was able to "solve" (more of a "good bypass") the problem by also a different IP using the N7 MAC address. After doing that, it was correctly assigned to that one. So I'm posting this issue here both to maybe try and find an actual solution and to maybe help others in a similar situation.
Information:
- I'm located in Georgia, USA
- Hardware version is A1, firmware is 1.04
- A factory reset was performed after I upgraded to this firmware
- Even though I don't think it matters, my ISP is AT&T via DSL using a Pace 3801HGV
