Need assistance getting audio
« on: December 23, 2013, 11:18:29 PM »

I have tried several ip cam viewer programs and I am very easily getting the video feed.  I am able to enter the brand, model, then the ip address assigned to the camera, user name and password... presto... Video every time but no audio.

Could someone please enlighten me why this is happening or point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance,
Will

The mydlink Lite and mydlink+ mobile apps and mydlink desktop site supports audio.

I know dlinks apps and site audio work.  I want to use a more feature rich program for the cameras.  Can you tell me why no audio is available outside of dlink's own programs or what I am missing to get it working???

You may have better luck posting in the general network camera board since all D-Link cameras use a similar protocol: DCS series Network Cameras

you can get the audio in a browser using http://ipaddress:port/audio.cgi where
    ipaddress is the camera's ip
port is the assigned port, if you have done so

Perhaps you could run this in a second window alongside the cam viewer application?

I'll have to add this as an FAQ.  ;)
