If you get "Invalid file" rename to the same name with a .zip extension, and extract the .bin from the zip.

Yes, the original post explains the missing .zip extension. For some reason if the file is downloaded with Firefox, the extension is lost. However, if the file is downloaded with IE, the extension carries over.  ???  :-\

Hello! Thanks a lot for this post.

I tried to update my DCS-930L, but it still shows the old firmware. Please see attached image.

Code: [Select]

I followed the instructions here https://me.mydlink.com/faq/DCS930L/ans17#id-key_26/ans-8
Using a LAN cable instead of Wi-Fi, uploading the downloaded unzipped file.

Am I doing it the right way?

Also.. does this firmware enable scheduling of Motion Capture combined with image capturing to email at the same time?

The screenshot you provided indicates that version 1.09 is installed, which is correct. To answer your second question regarding receiving emails with attached images that are triggered by scheduled motion detection windows, the answer is "yes".

Ah ok, thanks for the reply. How do I set the camera for that?
Is this correct?

Everything looks okay. The best way to validate if your settings are correct is to try different combinations and perform some motion detection tests until everything is working properly.  ;)

Wow! Really? After 3 years, they FINALLY added a schedule for Motion Detection!?!?!? I almost fell out of my seat when I read that.  :o

Dangit though, I just updated all my cameras to 1.08 a month ago. It's a pain getting to some of mine (I have 6) because of where they are mounted. Good thing I have a laptop and a really long Ethernet cable!

LOL. I've been using the DCS-932L version of this latest FW upgrade for over 2 weeks now and the new functionality works perfectly. As you implied, this update was long overdue, but better late than never.  ;)

I used to be able to update my DCS-930L firmware via my wireless connection. But when I try that with 1.09, although the status line shows progress until the file is 100% uploaded, the connection hangs at that point. When I reconnect later, the firmware is still reported as 1.08. Rebooting the camera doesn't help. I have 3 DCS-930L cameras, and they all exhibit this behavior.

Is there a way to get wireless firmware updating to work like it previously did?

Are you unzipping the firmware archive and uploading the expanded file? If the original archive did not contain a zip extension, you may have to manually add one. For some reason, some versions of Firefox leave the extension off when the file is initially downloaded. For compatibility reasons, it's usually best to use IE for firmware updates.

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, I'm uploading the extracted dcs930l_v109_b2.bin file. I'd been using Chrome, but I just tried it with IE11 and I get the same behavior.
