Just picked up a DAP-1522 to go with my DIR-655 yesterday and I got a few questions.
Just for reference I'm using the latest firmware for both products. And my DIR-655 is HW Rev. A2. The Router is separated from the DAP-1522 by 1 dry wall and I'd say less then 5 feet apart.
The DAP-1522 seems to be working but doesn't actually show up on my router list of connected devices, is that normal? I have it connected it to an Xbox 360 and Blu-Ray player. Though items seem to show up on my Router Status page but their information is left blank.
For instance my Xbox 360 says: 192.168.0.199 xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
My other devices that don't go through the DAP would say: 192.168.0.197 "name" xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
So I guess my real question is how do I name the devices connected to the Wireless Bridge? There doesn't seem to be an option on either the DAP or the DIR.
My 2nd question is about performance. I'm using my Xbox 360 as a Media Extender, when I use Windows to see the Network performance its listed as above the required need for streaming HDTV, but if I watch the graph there is an occasionally (every 1 min or so) a lag spike where the signal drops to way below standard def.
Any ideas how to keep it steady the whole time?
Should Channel Width be set to 20/40 Mhz? Its default on 20 for bother the
router and the bridge.
Should I change the channel on the router? its currently set to Auto Channel Scan.
Any other options I should turn on or off?
