Dns_320L and My Surveillance problem (RESOLVED)
« on: January 15, 2014, 01:29:02 PM »

Hi to all,
I have a problem to use My Surveillance with DCS-933L camera.

My new Cam DCS-933L  is connected via wireless to a router and the DNS-320L is connected via cable to the same router. I have the port 80 forwarded to the DNS.
I have a DDNS dlink service active.
I'm able to access to the NAS from Internet (outside my home network), but when I launch the Surveillance Center app I get an error message that “Get camera list failed”.
When I run the wizard to add the cam, nothing is found.
If I add the cam manually, I can see a still picture from the cam, but when I press the save button, I get another error message “Configure camera information failed.“ and the settings are not saved.

It's very strange, because if I launch the Surveillance Center app inside my network (192.168.1.XXX) all works fine, I be able to see live streaming, configure cameras, playback the recording etc etc ..

Would anyone who knows where the problem could be give me a hint how to fix it?
Thank you very much in advance.

Luca

It seems that the plugin required by MySurveillance is not installed in the PC that you use for the connection from Internet.
Or maybe it requires some port forwarding.

I don't know if exist a plug-in for "My Surveillance" to use the application over internet?
I confirm that the application works inside my own network (from 192.168.1.xxx), the problem is only if I connect to the application outside my network.

I Think there is a problem with a Port Forwrding, but I don't find the rigth way to resolve it.
do I have to configure port forwarding on my router or inside the DNL-320L in "Network setting"? and how?

thank to all can help me.

The plug-in is required in general to use MySurveillance. When you run it for the first time the browser will ask you to download and install a .msi application.

Concerning the port-forwarding, I haven't idea.

Hi Luca, I just try to use My Surveillance from external network and I have the same problem.
I think we need to open and forward the ports listed in My Surveillance -> Setup -> Server Port.

do you have tried?
is it work now?

If I undersytand,
Do you mean that on the router, I should open and forward the port (indicate on My surveillance setup App) to the Camera?

Resolved!!!

I set my router forwarding the ports from 21081 to 21083 to the DNS-320L (not to the cam) and now it's possible to watch "live video" and "Playback" from internet outside my own network.
Thanks to jsslave that gave me a precious tip!
