Problem with the Setup Wizard.
« on: January 31, 2014, 10:59:53 PM »

Hi guys, seems I just bought this device 3 hours ago.

I seem to have accessed the local configuration of the storage (The hardway)
But I seem to have troubles with the setup wizard (Both on the installation disc and on the Mydlink site)
First of all, It is unable to scan the DNS-320L through its own setup wizard, although I manage to
assign a static IP for me to scan the storage. Second, from the administration password, although I did
leave the password blank (Configuration page doesn't have a password at first) but gave me an error
message that I entered the wrong password. I manage to enter a password through the configuration page
but after entering that exact password through the setup wizard, I get the same result on either setup wizard.

I just wanted to ask, if there is a way that I can make this quite easier? Whereas it seems that the
defect is unspecified since the DNS-320 itself is functioning within the network.
It is present through my primary router's DHCP list (Modem - Router 1 cascaded to Router 2 = DNS-320L,
take note as well that my 2nd router act as an access point)
UPnP enabled, Anti virus and Firewall disabled.
Changing ethernet cable is not necessary (Since it can access the configuration page of the device)

Upgraded the firmware to the latest version (1.03) and I did download this setup wizard
http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=57318.0, and it didn't work for me however

I do appreciate the effort on answering for this incident that I am receiving from the setup wizard for
my DNS-320L (So badly wanted to add this to Mydlink account :( )

Here are two more sources for the Setup Wizard, as the versions may be different:

Thank you for the response, but it seems the issue still persist. I still have to manually assign a static IP
address through the NAS's interface, and the admin password input still have the same error (Take note that
I manage to input a password through the configuration page).
I was wondering if this would be a defective device or the setup wizard itself?
Since coming from the 2 other sources other than the mydlink website, the setup wizard seems to have the
common result. :(

Just an update for this incident,

I did have my NAS right now, they didn't replaced it, but the good thing that the technical support just
told me earlier as I have called them is that "THE NETWORK ATTACHED STORAGE DEVICE WILL NOT WORK
IF YOU DON'T HAVE A HARDRIVE INSTALLED ON THE DEVICE", I do thought this before though. It seems
i'll try to check it out then once I have a hardrive inserted. He told me that it is for security reasons that is why I didn't manage pass through the admin password. Embarrassing.

Hope this might help someone who has the same issue :D
