Clean Uninstall Shareport Utility ?
« on: May 31, 2009, 08:32:58 PM »

After my DIR-655 stopped using shareport reliably I uninstalled it.

Windows 7 has begun hanging at startup

Log Name:      System

Event ID:      219

Description:
The driver \Driver\DlinkUDSMBus failed to load for the device Root\Kernel\0000.

Maybe this is goes hand in hand with the actual Shareport issues, maybe not ... but what a pain this 1.31 has become.

To remove the entry from the Registry I had to take ownership. Could this be a possible cause for the other Shareport issues?

No, taking ownership of .sys files is quite normal in Windows 7. So no relationship here.

The log entry you mention is about a driver (the 1.14 version by the way) that is still in the Windows startup list, but the driver itself is no longer present.
