Recording Malfunction Bug?
« on: February 14, 2014, 11:44:45 AM »

I have heard a few others run into this but was wondering just how widespread the issue is.

Every once in a while (sometimes every few days, sometime it doesn't happen for a week) the video will not be recorded correctly.
When a recording is triggered it will record at about a frame every 5 seconds. I have my setting set to record 5mb and 30 seconds. When this error happens the files turn out to be around 2mb.

Once it starts doing this, every recording will be like this until a reboot. Sometimes I will have a whole day of useless recordings.
A reboot fixes the problem but I can't seem to figure out what is causing this to happen.

Here is an example of the problem. Notice the time stamp is not moving. The second link is a normal recording:

I registered just to get an update on this issue. I'm experiencing the exact same thing. Is anyone going to respond to this? Or should I just return this camera? I've had it for 5 days now and the choppy recording happens daily until I reboot the camera. It records ok for awhile after a reboot, then randomly goes back to the choppy recording again. Please help!

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with network congestion causing the camera to go into this degraded mode and not being able to get back to normal without a reboot. I haven't had it do this for a week or two now as I haven't had any network issues.
