D-ViewCam - Can I have SplitScreen and watch remotely?
« on: February 17, 2014, 08:28:02 AM »

I'd like to get another 5010l and have a live split screen (watch 2 cameras live view on the same screen),
I also need to monitor from a remote location (outside my network) on a Windows PC computer.

Can D-ViewCam do both ?

Thanks!

D-ViewCam absolutely supports the live split screen view.  I have a DCS-5020L and two other D-Link cameras performing this function in D-ViewCam. Other users with more experience configuring the application will have to weigh in regarding remote login options via a PC.

Hi,
On the local machine that runs the Main Console I can watch both of the cameras at the same time (split screen) but on the remote machine, using "Remote Live Viewer" I can watch only 1 camera at a time, to view the other camera I have to "stop" the running one first.

I have a really wide bandwidth on both sides, so I'm sure that doesn't limit me.
Any idea what cause that?

Thanks!

Yep this is a major drawback in IMHO.   In the last 2-3 years its the New rule of thumb,  don't limit my mobile device's function.  Why?  cause I use it mucho amount of the time and there is an app that does it for me thats the one I'm gonna use.

That's ridicules, it's not even the mobile device version, I'm running the Remote Live Viewer on a remote Windows PC desktop.

sorry,  yep thats not good.  didn't understand your simplier task you were trying to do.

I almost feel DLink was up to some great stuff and some executive changed focus to buzz word projects "Cloud"   ect instead of seeing this stuff through.  Don't need all this software apps,  just a PC one with service and an APP across all platforms,  and make these two things work like their cameras do.
