Hi
I have the same issue, connecting to the DNS with UPNP from a "Freebox" hardware (www.free.fr; http://bugs.freeplayer.org/index.php?tasks=&project=2&string=UPNP&type=&sev=&due=&dev=&cat=&status=&date=0).
I tried to have the information on the UPNP client program that's in use in this box, but couldn't get it. All I know is that it's a linux-based box.
I made some tests to check what's happening : Installing XMBC client on my client computer, I'm able to browse the DNS 323 content with UPNP.
Connectig the XMBC server to the DNS 323 via a file share, I'm able to browse the multimedia content from the Freebox via my local XMBC server.
From what I'read on the internet, installing TwonkyMedia will fix it, but it's not free, as mentioned in the previous post, this requires installing fun_plug, telnet and TwonkyServer on the DNS 323 : and I suppose this not what you recommend... ?
So the issue has sth to do with the implementation of UPNP :
DNS 323 (with native UPNP AV server) => Freebox : K.O.
DNS 323 (with native UPNP AV server) => XMBC Upnp client
DNS 323 (with native UPNP AV server) => XMBC UPNP server => Freebox : Ok
DNS 323 (Nw share) + Twonky=> Freebox : seems Ok
below the DNS required info :
Hardware Version: DNS 323
Firmware Version: 1.07
Software Version (Easy Search): 4.7.0.0
Harddrive 1: WD10EAVS-32D7B1
Harddrive 2: no second HDD for the moment
Thanks for your replay
