Trouble installing software in Win7 RC get error 111
« on: June 03, 2009, 05:11:08 PM »

I recently installed a new OS (Windows 7 RC).
When I tried to installed the software included with my router I encounter a problem.
During configure router...Network, check, Network restart, check, Firmware ok, check, Checking for Router conflicts...Name my network answering the 2 questions it "checks" the router. After this I get "error: 111 no internet connection". But I can access the internet. I can't get past this part and cannot install Network Magic.
I have used compatibility mode for XP SP2 and Vista SP1. Vista is what I had prior.

My configuration is as follows:
Windows 7RC(Vista Ultimate 64bit)/ GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P/ Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 Wolfdale 3.16GHz/ CORSAIR DOMINATOR 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1066/ EVGA GeForce 9800GTX+ 512MB/ Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TBx2/  ENERMAX INFINITI EIN720AWT 720W/ Cosmos 1000 case/ Acer H223H

Thanks in advance for the help.

If your router is already configured you do not need Network Magic.  Just use Windows Networking.

Don't use network magic. 3rd party progs are garbage and unessessary compared to the native support Windows has. Plus there are so many significant changes in Win7 Networking, that I wouldn't doubt this would have something to do with it. Vmware used to have the same problems with the Networking stack and Win7, but that's been fixed now for some time.
