FTP Server dropping on PORT command?
« on: June 03, 2009, 09:03:27 PM »

I've got a NAS on my network that I have set up to respond to FTP request via the Virtual Server / Port Forwarding feature on the 615.

I can successfully log in to the NAS via FTP from outside the network, and do one 'dir' command to get the file listing. However, subsequent 'dir' commands hang then fail w/ "connection lost"

I realize that many different Ports are used during an FTP session when going back and forth w/ transfers, file listings, etc, my question is what's the best way to accommodate this?

From looking through the configuration on the router, I think that switching the Firewall Settings TCP Endpoint Filtering from "Port and Address Restricted" to "Address Restricted" sounds like it could be the trick.
Anybody familiar w/ doing this care to chime in?

Thanks!

Just an update - i changed the option to Address Restricted and it didn't help my situation.

could really use some insight here - the NAS (a dlink dns-321) is barely usable via FTP
