Schedule Motion Record - That Possible?
« on: March 28, 2014, 12:24:20 AM »

I have 2 cameras.

1 is facing outside that sends me a 6 frame email when upon motion.

I installed a 2nd camera inside my home I only want to notify me during the ours I am gone. HOWEVER, from the router and mydlink setup, I don't see that being possible.

Is it?

I want motion sensing to start say 7:30 am and end 3:00pm. I could just do a Monday-Friday schedule BUT the only option is emails every 300 seconds or something like that. That means I'm getting emails when I'm sleeping which I dont need.

Any thoughts on that?

I have the DCS-930L

I want the inside to have motion detection but from only 730am-300pm M-F. So far I have to come home and quickly disable it or I get a ton of emails.

What firmware version is installed on these two cameras?
Firmware version 1.09 and above added the option for motion detection on a schedule.

I tried for 30min to install the new Firmware and no luck.

I downloaded the file. There is a 1.10 firmware file going through Dlink's download page but 1.09 firmware by clicking on the 'update firmware' under the live video feed.

I tried both and got "invalid file" every time.

I hard wired my Mac and the camera to the router.
Ran the Wizard to get the IP address.
Hit Finish on the wizard.
Went to the 192.168.X.XXX to camera's ip adress
Went to maintenance tab and to firmware upgrade
Selected the Firmware file and hit upload
30 seconds and "invalid file".

Not sure what to do now. I tried it many times. Am I missing something?

Hi Camera Guy,

I had a similar problem and here's what worked for me....I wanted to get emails between 8:30 and 9:30am and between 3:30 and 6:30pm....I set it up to do motion detection between 8:30 and 18:30.  Then on my phone after 9:30 I would access my cameras and click on the 3 dots in top right corner to access the settings, then I would turn off motion detection....in the afternoon when I wanted to receive emails I would go back in and turn it on.

If there's an easier way to do this I'd like to know.  Hope this might help

It's possible you downloaded a zip file with a missing extension. Try adding the .zip extension and extract the contents.
