connect two DGS 1500 with trunk
« on: April 17, 2014, 01:09:19 AM »

I'm new with managed switches and therefore have some problems. Maybe it's a miss configuration or my knowledge is not good enough.
I try to connect two DGS 1500 with each other and I'm getting problems. If the connection is established and configured it's nearly impossible to use the internet. Sending a ping to the gateway gives me sporadic response and sporadic time out.

Till now I'm working with only one VLAN, but the number of VLANs will increase after the configuration works well.
I connected port 13 and 14 of switch one with port 2 and 3 of switch two. After that I configured a trunk. All four ports are in tagged mode. All other configurations are is default mode exceptional global settings like name, IP, time config etc
I tried a static and LACP configuration, same result.

Any idea?

Hi Iyster,

thank you for the answer. I've done it in that way and have installed the Firmware 2.50.B008 and thats the problem. After reinstalling the older firmware everything works fine.

Please have a look onto the ftp server, here you find a newer firmware release (version 2.51.B002):
ftp://ftp.dlink.de/dgs/dgs-1500-20/driver_software/

This should solve the problem, too said D-Link.
