Hello.
I try to use the DNS-320 as an target for backups done by my Synology NAS (backups done in the local network; not over the internet)

Under "Applications" - "Server" - "Enable ermote backup service" is activated an a password is set.
Iīve rebootet several times.

But when I try to use this target on my Synology NAS it always says "invalid username oder password".
On the Synology NAS I can see the "Volume_1" after the first step, but when it comes to the second step ("finish") the above error comes.

I tried admin .. root ... and the password Iīve given unter "Remote Backup Server Password" also the login-password.. nothing works

mh.. so no one else has problems making a backup from another NAS on the DNS-320? ..
I donīt know why rsync doesnīt work

Hi, I have a question.  Do you have the DNS-320 or the DNS-320L?  The older DNS-320 I am pretty certain does not support backups to or from other manufacturers.  I think the newer DNS-320L might do that but this is the forum for the old version not the new "L" version.  You probably still can do it if you install FFP on the older 320, but without it no way.  The 320L forum is here.   http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?board=347.0   Good luck.

Hey Kohjinsha, I am having the exact same issue, I was given the DNS320 and its been sitting unused, so I thought it would be a good idea to use it for backups. I follow the same steps as you on my DS412+ with DSM 5 and I get the error below




I have read that the DNS320 is limited to only allow backups from other DLINK devices, this seems ridiculous though, I am just starting to play with Fun_Plug 0.7 and have root access so there must be someway of over riding this...

I have just seen that Synology are releasing a single bay DS115j for only Ģ70 so I may get rid of this dlink and the ancient drives sitting in it, and stick a large single drive in one of those for offsite backup. At least I we would be certain it would work.
