Dont know if this is possible
« on: April 25, 2014, 10:46:18 PM »

Hi all-
I was wondering about whether or not its possible to share outside of the routers network. What i mean is;
we have a comcast modem/router on the mail floor, i have a DIR-825 in the basement. we have a Ethernet cable from the comcast modem to the DIR 825 and everything works just fine. what im wondering is, can i , while on the DIR825 network, share files/folders to a device/computer connected to the comcast modem/router network? i have several devices connected to the DIR825 and everything gets internet and i can easily share files within the DIR825 network, but is it possible to "bridge(?)" one network to another?

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
  • What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
  • What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?
  • Is ISP Modem/Service using Dynamic or Static WAN IP addressing?

You could try this:
