Time and Date keeps on changing after a couple of weeks
« on: April 28, 2014, 06:58:38 AM »

I have 3 DCS-932L cameras and for some reason, after a week or two, the Date and Time reverts back to the first day of the year.
All 3 cameras are running the latest FW 1.09.
Initially I only had 1 camera and it would reset it's date and time randomly, thinking it was the camera itself I bought 2 more.
Fast forward last night, all 3 cameras decided to reset the date and time.
I've tried using an NTP server but it still wouldn't keep the right date and time.

Anyone else having this issue?

I would suggest setting time manually and check for power surge or power failures. This must be your cause. My 5 Cams are with latest firmware as well they lose time - revert to standard-  everytime i restart one of them for any reason

I only have one 932-L, but I know when the power goes out or I have to unplug the camera that I have to go back in and click the "copy your computer's time settings" to get it back on track.  I never could get any of the automatic time/date servers to automatically take care of the time and date.

This afternoon I noticed the date and time was off once again. When I logged in to make the manual change once again, I decided instead to invest a few minutes to see if I could get the auto update feature to work.

The good news is that yes, it does work ... and I figured out why I had previously thought that auto update was failing:  After enabling the auto update and clicking SAVE SETTINGS you will NOT see the date and time update on the current screen.  Even after I refreshed that setup page it showed some January date.

However, clicking over to the STATUS page the date and time had updated to the correct local time.  When I returned to the date/time setup page, the info was correct as well.

The takeaway:  The auto update feature for date and time works fine after it is enabled and configured.  Just be aware that you might not see the current information show up on the setup page right away.

Hope that helps.
