How to mount NFS from Windows?
« on: June 11, 2009, 07:03:54 AM »

Annoying the frequently disconnected smb connection, I want to move to NFS setting,
However, I don't know how to mount Volume_1 on DNS-323 through NFS from windows.
I got one Mac and one Windows for the clients.
I guess that Mac wouldn't be a problem.

Any idea?

One option is to install Windows Services for UNIX from Microsoft:

Or you could look into other 3rd party NFS Clients for Windows.

your right the mac is not an issue.

Windows does not support NFS out of the box, your better off not trying, it has a lot of quirks.

SMB really is the mount of choice in an M$ world, hence tools like the DNS use SaMBa
