Hi guys,
I'm wondering if this is related to DNS 345 hardware or is it an issue on my end.
When I'm sharing a link from NAS my download speeds are only 250kb/s (max) but drops as low as 150kb/s.
My internet upload speed is 1.5MB/s (fibre connection).

Why is the upload from NAS so slow in comparison how fast my upload can be?

Is it hardware limitation or something I didn't set properly.

Are you accessing the DNS-345 from another PC on the same LAN or remotely over the Internet?

Remotely, overt internet is my problem.
 Over lan I get GOOD transfer rate 35-45 mb depending on file size.

Can I at least know if any of you ever gotten better upload over internet results than 250kb/s

Your ISP on each end may impact what you see on speeds when remote.

I've seen 65Mb on the LAN side. Will be testing the DNS and my new DIR-880L this weekend on various LAN side speed testing.

Are you using a GbE L3 network switch in our home or office or a mickey mouse one? There is big difference in both. I wouldn't blame the ISP if you find yourself getting close to the speeds you say you have from the ISP, but keep in mind if you have other services running on other machines, like Torrents for instance those services will be sharing the bandwidth with your cloud reducing the speed by a lot in some cases.

Hi,
I have a fibre optic connection to my house with asus 8 port gigabit switch with 16Gbps (2Gbps per port).
I stopped all other services when doing testing and speeds I was getting were 22x slower than my upload speed (45mbps = ~5.5MB/s).
When using my smartphone speed test over wireless I was getting something like 10x the upload speed of the DNS-345.
I understand if it is the hardware limitation of the NAS but wanted to make sure that it isn't my equipment setup.

For testing purposes, try placing your PC and DNS-345 on the same switch and remove the router to eliminate any other possible conflicts. You may also want to test another client PC to rule out any PC NIC related issues.

I've achieved a maximum upload speed of ~45-50 MB/s (not mbps), but upload throughput usually hovers around 35 MB/s (I can't explain the delta). I see the best results when the host and client are on the same physical switch.

Now that I know its my setup and not the hardware inside NAS I'll be focusing all my attention to my router and switch setup.

The speed issue in part is the because they haven't setup teaming correctly on the device. When they finally manage to achieve this we'll start to the bandwidth increase.
