Never had any problems with my DNS-320L until yesterday, came across this forum and joined in the hope that I can get this issue resolved.
I have replaced a 2TB drive in my DNS-320L. Raid is set to auto-rebuild and it has initialised the new disk and gone through the synchronisation process (sending me a nice little e-mail telling me that the volume was rebuilding and then another when the volume had been rebuilt).
When I go back into the web GUI it's telling me that the volume is degraded. I've gone through this process a couple of times now (shutting down and restarting from cold each time) with the same results. Firmware was upgraded a couple of months ago so should be pretty much the latest version.
The NAS is online and working OK with at least the one good disk but I really don't know for sure if the second disk has synchronised or not (but I have my doubts and you don't really want to be doubting the integrity of your NAS unit). The NAS is reporting that the volume is 0gb in size and 0g available.
I'm about to start copying all the data off the NAS to a windows box just in case anything should happen to it.
Anyone have any idea's about the best way forward with this. I'm thinking to reinitialise both disks, rebuild the volume from scratch and copy the data back. If anyone has something that doesn't involve me starting over then I'd be grateful to hear it.
