DNS-320L Hung
« on: July 12, 2014, 05:18:08 PM »

Hi,

Recently I realised my nas got hung frequently. Firmware is 1.03. Can't access the web admin, can't ftp, can see it's still connected to network. Only recent change was the asus rt-n56u router firmware update.

It is connected directly to the router.

Have to unplug the power to resolve. Any idea what could be the course ?

TIA

Not sure if deleting huge number of files may cause the freeze.

Each folder has 86400 jpg files. After 12 folders, my nas hung.

Deleted them via ftp from my android phone.

the same problem occurred with my first version of the 320L.
the trader replaced this device, and i got the hardware revision A2.
don't know exactly if the first on got revision A1 or A2.

now the problem occurs again since yesterday.
every time i want to copy file to the nas, i got some message like "network path not found".
i started to ping the device, but there is no errors or interupts, even if this error message occurs.

How do you recover your nas if it hangs ? I normally can't shut it down using the power off button. Will switch off and on again.

Again, my nas hung today after few days of up time. One of my ip cam ftp a jpeg every second. Could that be the cause ?

I am still able to ping it but not able to access the web gui or ftp or smb.

Only way I can recover it is to pull the power lead :-\

My nas hung again while I was playing a video file. At the same time, 4 ip cams ftp jpeg every second and 1 of them write video files to it when there is motion.

Overload ?
