Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
  • What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
  • What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?

Router and Wired Configurations
Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router. Besure to log into the Admin account on the router.
  • Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. Setup/Networking. This ensures each devices gets its own IP address when turned on and connected, eliminates IP address conflicts and helps in troubleshooting and maintain consistency for applications that need to connect as well as mapped drives.
  • Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.

Hi

HW version : B1
FW version : 2.04
Region : INDIA/ASIA

*
ISP is Providing me the direct WAN from outside clubbed router. possibly that is cable modem
I dont think its related to the ISP!

*
I will explain my problem clearly...

I have Windows XP Desktop having Intel(R) PRO/100 VE PCI Network card which is power independent from processor.
Means even though the PC is in OFF mode the network card having powered up independently.

If my PC is turned ON obviously router will show the static IP by its DHCP server in the LAN list.
When PC turned OFF, the IP will be remain same in the router LAN list. At that time Wake On LAN will work as expected. But if the router also rebooted, then :( under the LAN list PC IP wont show.  When open the System Check option under the Maintenance tab it will show the 100Mbps connection! something something about tx rx pair cable!

Is there a static IP address ON this PC or did you set up a Reserved IP address on the router?

What is the IP address your currently using on this PC?

You might want to test he following.

Set up a static IP address on these device. You can set them to the same IP address you have on the router. Just remove the reservation on the router first. See if this help maintain the connection...

:(
not working.. same issue is repeating

I have made the static IP on desktop - 192.168.0.102

and i removed all the IP reservation

I changed the DHCP range to 192.168.0.110 - 199 (100 - 199 was previous value)

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this and the expected behavior for this router and this featuer. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

Where did you get the v2.04 FW update from? Your regional D-Link support site?

When you did the update, did you follow this?
