make usb printer wireless using dir 505
« on: August 10, 2014, 09:44:50 AM »

I have dlink dir 505 setup and I can access the usb drive connected to 505 via shareport utility on my ipad. However, I'm not able to access the usb printer connected to dlink 505 from my ipad. Basically, I would like to make my usb printer a wireless printer so that I can print from ipad. My printer doesn't have lan connection or wifi connection. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

Its possible that this model router may not support USB printers. I'd review the USER Manual, Web site Specs and or phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask about this. As a alternative solution, you may need to get a D-Link DPR print server device to connect to the printer and DIR router.
