PIR Only?
« on: September 27, 2014, 10:05:19 PM »

Is there a way to set this camera to use PIR sensor only, not the regular motion detection? I get a lot of pictures of very little movement. Such as just a change in shadow setting the camera off.

Log into the cameras firmware for such an option if it exists.  Read the user manual that came with your camera or download one off of dlink site, or Google for the manual

Yes.  Create a recording event and pick "PIR motion" as the trigger for it.

I would really like to get "video motion detection" to work since I don't feel that PIR ail recognize "cold" objects that not respond to the infrared changes in the pictures, i.e cars….

Are you behind a window or any glass? How far Away is the object? The pir distance is really limited to barely 20ft or something.

Thanks for the replay. I am not behind a window but the distance is probably over 20ft. It makes sense since it records movement only at the point where the object is nearest to the camera.

But I still do not get the regular "video detection" to move. If I choose to disable PIR go choose both video detection and PIR in the Motione Detection menu I still have to choose in "Events" menu, to choose between PIR or Video Detection. When I choose Vide Detection, the camera sense movement but does not start to record. But when I choose PIR in the Event Menu the camera detects movements and start recording. But it does not record the three seconds before the movement.
