They may have since USB 3.0 was a problem at some point.
Is USB 3 supported on the Rev B? If so, maybe it's set to auto detect USB 3 connections. And maybe is not effected anymore.

Sorry, this unit isn't available here in the USA. Canada and EU it is.

Hope it works well. The new UI is like the 880L/890L. A bit more simplistic and some users don't care for it. Not sure how long the old UI will be around. I presume D-Link will be going forward with this new UI on all there new router products.  ::)

Just installed my new 868L rev b.

Updated from my trusty DIR-655, which has worked a treat for me, for many years.
Got a good deal, I think. About 100 euros including postages.

Configured it, updated to latest FW (201b05) and seems to work beautifully (Knock on wood).
Seems they have removed the USB 3 setting? I suppose it made more problems than anything else. At least I cannot find any setting for it anymore (and would have disabled it anyway...)

It's quite a bit simpler UI, yes. And I kinda miss the "old one", been using it for so long, that got kinda used to it ;)
Still, I find the new one more intuitive and prettier, though I'm not as happy about the missing settings.... Seems to be a trend nowadays (Kaspersky, Android UI changes...)
More complex settings should be available to those, who want to tinker with all the settings. Like an "Advanced mode" or something...

Ya I agree, it would be nice to have a novice and advanced mode for the UI. D-Link is aware of users concerns. Not sure when or if any thing will change. I presume it would take a bit more memory and configuration to enable two mode UI like that while containing the additional features. Will see I guess. Over all the 868L has been a solid router. I'm on my 2nd 868L now. Gave my 1st away as a gift. I ran out and found another one. Great routers.  ;D

Maybe people are getting simpler and have shorter tolerance for learning things  :P
And even I know, that I don't want to go back to DOS days of configuring boot diskettes xD
Might be one reason, why I haven't bothered to try different Linux distros nowadays, as I did constantly over a decade ago xD
But agreed, have installed quite a few DIR-655's for friends and even on a local registered association, they've been working fine.
I use to visit these forums quite regularly, to read what is happening on D-link world :) So I will surely give my opinion sometime in the future.

Ya I have all 3 Revs of the 655 now. Good solid routers. Work horses for sure. The 868L is a good work horse too.

See you again soon. Enjoy.  ;)
