HI,
I've had the 825 A1 version for some time.
I recently updated the firmware to 1.11 and have not experienced the lock ups that other are seeing but I seem to have found a new problem.
I like to use MAC filtering or Network Filtering as it is called in the 825.
But when I turn it on to only allow access to the machines that I've added I can no longer access the internet with any of them.
I do still have connections to all wireless machines on my network and all wired machines can get to the internet just fine.
I suspect it has something to do with the fact that I'm using the 825 as an access point only so it does not have a WAN connection. I let my Zyxel router handle that part and a Win 2003 server handles DHCP for the network.
This worked fine with Network Filtering enabled in prior firmwares (1.00 and 1.01) but no longer works with the 1.10 and latest 1.11 versions.
I find it strange that with Network Access enabled that I can still see my wireless clients across the LAN but they no longer can access the internet.
I've tried ticking and unticking the WLAN partition button in case it was reversed in the latest firmwares but no joy. I did the same with the allow or deny under Network Filter but all that did was deny my LAN connection into the GUI from my wired configuration machine!
All the wireless machines can also access the 825's GUI when Network Filter is enabled but zero internet traffic is going out.
I've played around with the other advanced settings but nothing helped so I'm asking here if I may have simply overlooked something and that is blocking my wireless clients from the internet.
If anyone has any suggestions then please let me know

Oh yes, I did reset to defaults and rebuilt from scratch after the new firmware so I know it is not something left over from the prior configuration.
When I watch my Zywall logs I do not see anything coming out from the wireless clients so I suspect it is trying to route everything through the disconnected WAN port.
For now I just leave the Network Filter turned off and all is fine but I prefer to have it on.
I know MAC filtering is easily bypassed but it can and does discourage the curious. Being in an apartment complex with many others with computers seems to make for more connection or hacking attempts. Most move on when they find any type of filtering so why not use it if it is available.
Thanks all.
