Sony Blu Ray Player USB Connection
« on: January 06, 2015, 01:57:26 AM »

Hi folks

I recently purchased a a dlink 320l. It's working great, however I am trying to connect it to my Sony Blu Ray player via the USB connection besuase of the lack of

ports I have on my router, unfortunatnly though it's not appearing. I have updated to the latest firmware and enabled UPNP as well as other features like FTP

server, still no luck though. The blu ray player does have DLNA and it can play various types of movie files as i've done it before with a USB drive.

Any ideas,?

The Usb port in 320L is only for pendrive or Usb disc. You cannot use it to connect any kind of player - for such as connection you must use the Ethernet network and ports.

Not the answer you are looking for, but have you considered purchasing a dedicated switch to wire to your router? This approach will give you more ports and allow you to isolate high bandwidth traffic within the switch (i.e. if you attach the ShareCenter + devices accessing the ShareCenter on the switch).  This can eliminate throughput bottlenecks for other devices passing traffic through the router or Internet.

Thanks for the replies...

Am probably going to get my old wireless router and turn off the DHCP functionallity and use that as a switch. if that would cause issues then probably purchase a small switch.

Once again, much appreciated.
