Author Topic: Upgrading Dviewcam from v3.2 to 3.6. Just Overwrite or Uninstall First?  (Read 4479 times)

Sorry for the moronic question but I can't find an answer anywhere.

I am going to upgrade from DviewCam v3.2 (DCS100) to 3.6.0. Do I just run the 3.6.0 installer or do I have to uninstall the old version first. I want to keep my old configuration. Which I have backed up to a .SC file.

Thanks for your help,

John

I just started the install of 3.6.0 to see if it would check for an older version. It does check and said it has to uninstall DCS100 v3.2 before installing DviewCam v3.6.0.

If I say yes to the uninstall, will I lose all of my recorded videos, my motion detection set-ups, configurations, etc. Will I have to reinstall my Camera in the new software?

For anyone with the same question.

The updated version of DviewCam will retain all of your old settings when you select to uninstall your old version of DviewCam during install of the new version. I updated from v3.3 to v3.6.0 without losing anything.
