Java and Firmware Major Problems/ Customer Upset!!!!!!!
« on: April 16, 2015, 08:51:21 PM »

For 5009, 5010 and 5020 latest firmware updates causing problems many problems with cameras including remote pan and tilt via PC and mobile devices.
Reversing to prior firmware eliminated problem.

To add to the incompetence, the latest version of Java (as of today) does not permit remote access via PC to view not change settings.  Viewing is not a problem on mobile devices but full array of settings cannot be changed on mobile devices by design.

Please fix this. It’s unprofessional for customers to do your troubleshooting and waste hours. I should send you  a bill but I can’t. But I can as a customer hammer you by contacting the BBB and posting about it online. :'( :'(

Nice post. Thanks for the feed back.

IMO I prefer to use IE, FF or Opera. Usually a bit less hassle than Chrome.

Also:
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection

Let us now if any of the suggestions or information helps...If not, I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

I aint callin no regional office. That is basically a wasteful redirect for the customer. DLINK should answer here in public and provide a fix. BBB right around the corner.

D-Link typically escalates issues for resolution based on the volume of calls received through the official D-Link support desk. If D-Link receives a large number of calls pertaining to the same issue, that issue is more likely to be escalated as a problem for investigation and resolution. To raise awareness, forum members are encouraged to call the toll free D-Link support desk to report their issue: 1-888-851-6464. You can ask to escalate the issue from level 1 to a higher level. there's only so much we can offer through this forum in the way of support and re-mediation. Since your concerns (satisfaction and otherwise) extend beyond the reach of this forum, I recommend contacting D-Link Technical Support. Good Luck.

Was a factory reset performed before and after updating FW on the camera?

I did it and I have the same result. I'm able to tilt and rotate but no picture on the screen.

Can you check this on a different PC by chance?
